The Dallas Mavericks are good example of how team with cap room doesn't just spend to the cap ($58.7 mil) but can

go well beyond when properly managing their payroll.

With Wayne Ellington's number estimated at $2.5 mil (may be slightly higher), the Mavs are at $65.4 million with 13 guaranteed players.

It looks like Ellington got all or most of the team's Room Exception - which means the only $ left to spend is min contracts.

Dallas could get as high as $67.1 million if they add on two more vet contracts.
